Description & Objectives

The Caribbean Seminar in Anesthesiology will present a lecture and panel discussion program on recent advances in the field of clinical anesthesia. This will update the registrant's knowledge of clinical anesthesia including clinical problems, obstetric and geriatric anesthesia, medical errors, as well as recent developments which affect the practice of anesthesiology. The program is intended for both anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists.

This program has been prior approved by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists for 20 Class A* CE credits; Code Number 1034588; Expiration Date January 19, 2018; AANA designates this program as meeting the criteria for up to 10 CE credits in Pharmacology/Therapeutics.  *CRNAs may apply excess Class A required CE’s (beyond 60 per four-year cycle) to fulfill the Class B requirements. CRNAs must earn a minimum of 40 Class B credits every four-year recertification cycle.

Schedule

There will be 4 daily scientific sessions, from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, Monday, January 15th through Friday, January 19th, 2018. By popular demand, Wednesday will be kept free so registrants can make good use of the many activities available in St. Thomas. The Daily sessions will include 4 hours of Lectures including Questions and Answers dealing with these lectures; and 1 hour of Interactive Discussions with the audience utilizing Problem Based Learning Discussion(P.B.L.D.) and Evidence Based Medicine (E.B.M.)
